What's Happening? Workshop: Fundraising for Small Orgs

Join us for a lunch-and-learn workshop on maximizing fundraising efforts with a small team. This workshop will focus on small organizations' challenges and how they can increase their capacity to fundraise effectively. 

The What’s Happening Workshop series are content-focused workshops designed to help the arts sector get calibrated to sector-wide trends and share inspiration, insights, and resources with peers.

 

Speaker

Paula Brown has worked in the nonprofit profession for nearly 30 years. She began her career as an elementary music teacher after graduating from Central Michigan University, then moved east where she built her nonprofit career in New York/New Jersey before returning to Detroit. She has worked for such organizations as Junior Achievement of New York, Covenant House, Brandies University, YMCA, and Starfish Family Services. She has also consulted with organizations on fundraising and board development. Most recently, Paula served as Chief Development and Engagement Officer and Interim Associate Director for the Corner Health Center.

Brown has been a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals since 1992, is a Past President of the Greater Detroit Chapter board, and past Vice Chair of AFP New Jersey. She is on the board of Oakland Literacy Council and has also served on the Dearborn Chamber of Commerce Board, the City of Detroit Workforce Development Board, and the board of the YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit Foundation. She continues to pursue music and resides in Plymouth.
